Being Well week of August 1st 2022

Namaste %FIRSTNAME%,

can you feel it? A little change in the energy? We have now passed the wonderful time of Lughnasadh - harvest is ripened and we begin to think about reaping those benefits of all our hard work over the past year. We may even rest a little before getting to work gathering it all in.

I love this time of year not just because it is my birthday month (Leo wouldn't you know!) but there is a change in the light, a throwing on of an extra layer "sweater weather". Ok, so we are obsessed with weather! I plan to take a trip on the river Boyne on Sunday morning with Boyne Boats. Such a great experience, did it last year. Here is a blog piece I wrote last year about it - HERE.

Tuesday's class was based around our root chakra - great for grounding and connecting to the earth.

Why Om Gam Ganapataye Namaha Is a Mantra Worth Repeating -

Uttarabodhi mudra represents enlightenment in yoga.

The index fingers and thumbs are extended while the hands are interlocked. The index finger and thumb tips touch, pointing up and down.

This mudra should be practised for 15 to 20 minutes, one to three times a day, but can be done anywhere.

Practicing uttarabodhi mudra can calm an agitated mind or ease nerves before a daunting activity.

This mudra is thought to boost self-confidence and help realise the Self.

Uttarabodhi mudra helps improve inspiration, problem-solving, decision-making, attention, and concentration.

This Sunday at Ananda Centre.

“The grain to harvest’s cutting falls
to make the bread for banquet halls.
We’ll save some seeds where life’s waiting,
and plant a new field come next Spring.
We shared the work we needed to do,
and now we’ll share the eating too!
Thank you, fruit, and thank you bread,
for making sure that we are fed.”

May all be well,
